David is a physiotherapist with extensive experience across musculoskeletal practice. He comes from an undergraduate background of sports biomechanics but qualified as a physiotherapist from Birmingham University over 10 years ago. He successfully completed his junior training as Chelsea and Westminster hospital where he gained an invaluable foundation of MSK/orthopaedic knowledge. After working as a senior MSK physiotherapist in Hillingdon Borough he successfully moved into private practice in West London for 4 year where he gained the unique experience of working as Harrow School's physiotherapist. More recently David and his family young made the move out of London to south Buckinghamshire where he spent almost 3 years working in an MSK diagnostic service. For the last year David has been working for Circle Reading Hospital's outpatient department where he has been developing the hospitals ACL rehabilitation service.
David sees himself very much as an evidence based practitioners who has a specialist interest in lower limb MSK rehabilitation following injury and/or surgery with particular focus on successful return to sport in adolescent populations. He is also developing an interest in the management of long term persistent pain conditions including conditioning such as osteoarthritis. Movement analysis has been one of David’s passions since his undergraduate years and he is trained in clinical/sporting gait analysis. David prides himself on his manual therapy skill set which includes: soft tissue massage, myofascial release and joint mobilisation. He is also competent in the uses of athletic and proprioceptive taping techniques. He regularly uses ultrasound and shockwave therapy and has experience in the use of muscle stimulation (NMES) to facilitate rehabilitation.
Like most physiotherapist David is a keen follower of many sports (mainly Football, Cricket and Golf) . When he is not spending time with his young family you will either find him on a golf course, running 5-10K trails, watching a cricket match or even climbing one of Scotland's many "Munros".
