Graduated from the University College of London with a Masters Degree in Osteopathy in 2010. Katie is a structural/cranial/paediatric osteopath with over 10 years experience, tailoring treatments to fit the needs of the patient. She is a qualified DMA Clinical Pilates instructor; and is trained in Medical Acupuncture, Kinesio Sports Taping and Remedial Ultrasound.
Katie retrained as an osteopath in her early 30s following an injury retirement from rowing and this introduced her to some fantastic osteopaths along the way. She has a strong interest in treating and rehabilitating sports injuries, owing to her rowing background. Katie is passionate about injury prevention through strength and conditioning, yoga and remedial pilates; She likes to work with patients beyond just initial injury recovery. She has worked with rowers, runners, triathletes, hockey players, swimmers and tennis players. She enjoyed working on an NHS trial aiming to prevent hip and knee replacement surgery, using osteopathic treatment and clinical pilates over a 3 month period.
Katies other osteopathic hat is paediatric osteopathy, encompassing newborns through to teenage years. She is skilled in treating the unsettled baby, often working with the mother pre and postnatally. Pregnancy and birth are a shared experience that sometimes intrinsically leads to strains which can be gently released. Osteopathic gentle techniques are effective in treating the growing body, assessing gait changes, developmental delays and helping with musculoskeletal strains.
Katie treats migraines, TMJ, sinus congestion, vestibular disturbances using gentle crania sacral techniques.
She is a mum to a preteen daughter and enjoys long dog walks, hikes, cycling, running, SUP and bodyboarding; and will no doubt inevitably return to rowing for fun.
