What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is the recognised and established science of human mechanics, a system of diagnosis and treatment which hangs the main emphasis on the structural and mechanical problems of the body.
It focuses mainly on the musculo-skeletal systems of the body (muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints etc.). Back pain is often treated by Osteopaths but they also deal with other problems related to muscles and joints.
Your first visit to the Osteopath
Your initial consultation is 45 minutes and will allow you to tell the osteopath about your problem and will be followed by a comprehensive examination to determine the best treatment plan. The osteopath will explain in detail what treatment is required and why. If treatment other than osteopathy is indicated, the osteopath will refer you to the most appropriate specialist.
Our Osteopaths are registered with the General Osteopath Council, a statutory body established to maintain the highest standards within the profession.
I've played sport all my life and if I need treatment I'll always go to the Abbey Clinic.
