Our dedicated team of state registered physiotherapists are qualified to treat a wide range of injuries and pathologies including, musculo skeletal injuries, spinal problems and muscle strains.

We are trained to treat the whole body by correcting and improving the body's own natural healing mechanisms. Treatment by physiotherapy aims at the facilitation and restoration of movement and function.

How do we decide the best form of Physiotherapy for you?

Treatment cannot begin without an assessment and diagnosis. We pride ourselves on a thorough assessment to ensure an accurate diagnosis leading to effective management of any problem. We have good working relationships with all relevant specialists if further investigations are required.

How do we prevent re-occurence?

Your specific movement patterns are assessed and a programme of self-help exercises will be taught in order to maintain your improvement. This could include instruction in clinical pilates, or further referral to our fitness/lifestyle consultant.

Do I need to consult a doctor?

No, not necessarily, you can consult a physiotherapist without a doctor's referral. However, if you are claiming on medical insurance, you must consult with your insurance company before treatment.

Sports Physio

The team at the Abbey Clinic are experienced in treating all types of sports injuries from a number of different sports.

Members of the team have both professional and personal experience in a range of sports including, tennis, hockey, athletics, swimming, gymnastics, triathlon, rowing, canoeing, sailing, equine sports, football, rugby to name just a few. They have treated a variety of sports people in the past from the international athlete to the recreational sports person.
